International passenger trains in 20th Century Europe

The 1937 departures show a preponderance of trains to Central and Western Europe. By 1962 these destinations had disappeared in the aftermath of war. Connections to Split and the French Riviera are notable.


The 1962 table shows a much smaller range of destinations of which all but Basel were part of the Soviet bloc capitals. Only one train connects Bucuresti with Western Europe.
